Game Information

Sunday 13th April – Kick-off – 21:30 (GMT)

São Paulo

São Paulo have had a mixed week. First, they took on Atlético Mineiro away from home and earned a decent point in a 0-0 draw, their second consecutive goalless draw following the opening-round stalemate with Sport.

It’s safe to say they were second-best in the match, conceding 25 shots (six on target), while managing just six shots of their own, with four on target. They’ll be hoping to tighten things up at the back in their next outing but can take pride in keeping a second consecutive clean sheet in the league.

Then in midweek, they took on Alianza Lima in the Copa Libertadores, where they went 2-0 up thanks to a brace from Ferreira. However, they were pegged back in the second half, surrendering their lead and drawing 2-2 at home, a result that could prove costly later in the tournament

Cruzeiro

After victory on the opening weekend, Cruzeiro suffered defeat in Porto Alegre in their last league outing, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat against a strong Internacional side.

Things got off to a tough start when Jonathan Jesus was shown a straight red card early in the first half after bringing down Wesley. Referee Marcelo de Lima judged him to be the last man, and Cruzeiro were forced to play the majority of the match with ten men.

The hosts made the most of their advantage, with Enner Valencia and Alan Patrick both getting on the scoresheet before the break to give Inter a 2-0 lead.

Despite some moments of resilience, it was always going to be an uphill battle, and in the second half, Rafael Borré added a third to cap off a frustrating afternoon for Cruzeiro.

In midweek, things got worse for Cruzeiro, who suffered a 2-1 home loss to Peruvian side Mushuc Runa. They will be desperate to turn things around here.
