Bragantino have enjoyed a strong start to their season. After eight matches, they’ve recorded five wins, two draws, and just one defeat. They’re currently on a two-match unbeaten run in all competitions, though in the league, that streak extends to six games — a sign of their growing consistency.

Last time out, they travelled to take on Grêmio and looked set for a frustrating defeat after Francis Amuzu put the hosts ahead in the 87th minute. But Bragantino responded immediately. Just two minutes later, Paraguayan forward Isidro Pitta struck to earn a valuable point and ensure they returned to São Paulo with something to show for their efforts.

They’ll now be aiming to return to winning ways in what promises to be a tough test against a solid Palmeiras side.

Palmeiras currently lead the way in the Brasileirão, with six wins, one draw and one defeat from their opening eight matches. They are on a five-match winning streak in all competitions and will be eager to keep that momentum going in this fixture.

Last time out in the league, they hosted São Paulo and secured a dramatic 1-0 victory thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Vitor Roque.

Then in midweek, Palmeiras continued their strong form in the Copa Libertadores with a 2-0 win over Bolívar, courtesy of goals from Murilo and Facundo Torres. The result secured their place in the knockout stages of the tournament.

Palmeiras will now shift focus back to the league as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the table.
