Sunday 25th May – Kick Off (01:00 GMT)

Atlético Mineiro
Atlético Mineiro are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions and are beginning to show signs of consistency. It’s been a fairly mixed week for Galo, but one that ended on a high note.

First, they earned a point on the road in the Clássico Mineiro against rivals Cruzeiro. Although the match was largely dominated by their opponents, Atlético will be content with the draw given the circumstances. It was a gritty performance that showed resilience.

Midweek, however, told a very different story. Atlético were in dominant form in the Copa do Brasil, cruising to a 4-0 victory over Maringá. Goals from Rubens, Patrick, Rony and Lyanco sealed the emphatic win, completing a 6-2 aggregate triumph and securing their place in the next round.

Now sitting ninth in the league with 13 points from nine matches, Atlético will be aiming to bring that midweek energy into this fixture as they look to climb further up the table.

Corinthians
Corinthians are enjoying a solid run of form, having now recorded three consecutive 1-0 victories. The most recent of those in the league came against rivals Santos, where a second-half goal from Yuri Alberto secured all three points at home.

Then in midweek, they carried that momentum into the Copa do Brasil, where they edged Grêmio Novorizontino 1-0 thanks to a dramatic 93rd-minute winner, once again from Yuri Alberto, who has been central to their recent success.

Corinthians will now be hoping to extend their winning streak to four matches as they travel to face Atlético Mineiro. After nine rounds, they sit eighth in the league standings and are showing signs of a team steadily finding its rhythm.

Prediction – Atlético Mineiro 1-1 Corinthians
