The match here is an all-Paulista affair as São Paulo take on Mirassol. The sides last met in the Campeonato Paulista back in February, where São Paulo cruised to a 4-1 victory. Goals came from Oscar, Jonathan Calleri, Enzo Diaz and André Silva in what was a commanding performance.

São Paulo
It’s been a much more positive week for São Paulo, who have climbed to 11th in the Brasileirão. Last time out in the league, they hosted Grêmio and secured a 2-1 victory. Alexander Aravena opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half, but São Paulo responded well after the break, with goals from Robert Arboleda and a penalty from André Silva securing the comeback win.

Then in midweek, São Paulo advanced in the Copa do Brasil with a 2-1 win away at Náutico, completing a 4-2 aggregate victory. Goals from Luciano and Rodriguinho gave them control, and although Hélio Borges pulled one back late for Náutico, it was nothing more than a consolation.

Now, São Paulo will be aiming to make it three straight wins as they prepare to face Mirassol in this all-São Paulo clash.

Mirassol
Last time out, Mirassol faced Internacional in the Brasileirao, where the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Jemmes opened the scoring for Mirassol, but an equaliser from Ricardo Mathias with 30 minutes to play ensured the sides shared the spoils.

Mirassol won’t be too disappointed with the result, especially considering they were largely second best on the night. Internacional created several chances, registering 11 shots with eight on target, while Mirassol managed just two shots in total.

They’ll be hoping for a more disciplined defensive display in this fixture, especially knowing what São Paulo are capable of, something they experienced firsthand in their last meeting.

With no midweek action following their earlier exit from the Copa do Brasil, Mirassol come into this clash as the fresher of the two sides — an advantage they’ll look to make count.

Prediction – São Paulo 2-1 Mirassol
