Grêmio took the lead through Chilean forward Alexander Aravena, but the visitors responded in the second half with goals from Robert Arboleda and an André Silva penalty to secure the win. Bahia have enjoyed a solid start to their 2025 Brasileirão campaign. From nine matches, they’ve picked up four wins, three draws, and just two defeats, a strong foundation as they look to stay in the top half of the table.

Last time out in the league, they took on fierce rivals Vitória and came away with a hard-fought 2-1 win. Jean Lucas was shown a red card early on, leaving Bahia with ten men for most of the match. Despite the setback, they took the lead in the 23rd minute through Erick Pulgar. The second half saw Renato Kayzer equalise for Vitória, but Bahia had the final say. Michel Araujo stepped up with a decisive goal to seal the win, capping off a gritty and determined derby performance.

Midweek brought even more joy for the Bahia faithful, as they cruised to a 4-0 victory over Paysandu in the Copa do Brasil. Araujo opened the scoring before William José added a brace, and Rodrigo Nestor rounded off the result. The comprehensive win gave Bahia a 5-0 aggregate triumph and a spot in the next round of the tournament.

With momentum on their side, Bahia will now look to continue their strong run in the league.
