Sunday 1st June 2025 – Kick Off (01:00 GMT)

Vasco da Gama

It’s been a mixed week for Vasco da Gama. First, they suffered a 2-1 loss to rivals Fluminense in the Clássico dos Gigantes. Vasco took the lead through João Victor in the 26th minute, but a Pablo Vegetti own goal saw the sides go into the break level. Then, in the dying moments of the match, Guga scored a stunning screamer to secure a 2-1 win for Fluminense.

Midweek brought a much more positive result for Vasco, who bounced back with a convincing 3-0 victory in the Copa Libertadores. Three first-half goals from Rayan, Paulo Henrique, and Pablo Vegetti, who redeemed himself after the weekend’s own goal, sealed the win. The result ensured Vasco’s place in the Copa Sudamericana knockout stages.

Now, they’ll be hoping to build on that momentum and improve their league form, as they currently sit 15th in the Brasileirão with just three wins from 10 matches.

Bragantino

Bragantino are enjoying a strong season so far. After 10 matches, they’ve recorded 6 wins, 2 draws, and just 2 defeats, placing them just two points behind the league leaders. With no continental competitions to juggle, they’ll be hoping that this focus on domestic action works in their favour as the season progresses.

Last time out in the league, Bragantino hosted Juventude and secured a narrow 1-0 win, thanks to a well-timed goal from Jhon Jhon right on the stroke of half-time. However, the evening wasn’t without setbacks; Lucas Barbosa was shown two yellow cards and will now be suspended for the upcoming fixture.

Prediction – Vasco 0-1 Bragantino
