Ceara v Mirassol
23/07/2025 – Kick Off (23:00 GMT)
Ceará come into this fixture on the back of two consecutive defeats, a run they’ll be eager to put behind them. They currently sit in 11th place with five wins, three draws, and six defeats from their 14 matches.
Most recently, they suffered a narrow 1-0 loss away to Internacional, with Alan Patrick’s first-half goal proving decisive. Ceará will be hoping to respond positively here and get back to winning ways as they look to climb back into the top half of the table.
Mirassol continue their solid form in the Brasileirão. From their 13 matches, they have lost just twice, winning five and drawing six. They are currently unbeaten in their last six outings and will be hoping to extend that impressive run here.
Last time out, they faced fellow Paulista side Santos and put in a dominant display, securing a 3-0 victory. Goals from Chico, Reinaldo, and Cristian Renato sealed a commanding performance and a well-earned three points.
The only setback came late in the game when João Victor was shown a red card in the 96th minute. Despite that, Mirassol will be very pleased with how their season is shaping up so far.
Prediction 1-1
Fluminense v Palmeiras
23/07/2025 – Kick Off (23:00 GMT)
Fluminense will be desperate to bounce back, having not won a game since returning from their Club World Cup campaign. They’ve now lost two in a row, with their most recent defeat coming in the Fla-Flu derby, a 1-0 loss to bitter rivals Flamengo after a late goal from Pedro sealed the points for the hosts.
The result means Fluminense have now lost their last three in all competitions and will be eager to put a stop to that run. To make matters worse, they’ve now lost key man Jhon Arias, who completed a move to Wolves for around €17 million. Arias will be a big miss for the Rio de Janeiro club.
After a frustrating draw with Mirassol, Palmeiras responded with a much-improved display to secure an important win at home against Atlético Mineiro. Lucas Evangelista opened the scoring before Hulk equalised, but second-half goals from Júnior Alonso (Own goal) and Maurício gave Palmeiras a 3-1 lead. Hulk pulled one back in stoppage time, but it was too little, too late as Palmeiras held on for a well-earned three points.
In the league table, they currently sit 4th, trailing leaders Cruzeiro by seven points, though they do have a couple of games in hand.
Prediction 1-1
Corinthians v Cruzeiro
23/07/2025 – Kick Off (23:30 GMT)
Corinthians have struggled for consistency, winning just once in their last seven matches. After picking up a 1-0 victory over Ceará, they failed to build on that momentum, falling to a 2-0 defeat in the Majestoso, the derby between São Paulo and Corinthians. A quickfire brace from Luciano, with goals in the 32nd and 35th minutes, stunned the visitors and put a serious dent in Corinthians’ rhythm. The result leaves them sitting 10th in the table, and they’ll be desperate to bounce back and find some form.
Hoping to take advantage of Corinthians’s poor form are Cruzeiro, who have won ten matches, drawn three, and lost two, sitting top of the Brasileirão with a three-point cushion. Reposa are unbeaten in competitive action since April, they come into this fixture full of confidence and momentum. At the weekend, they produced a dominant display, cruising to a 4-0 win over Juventude. Goals from Christian, a brace from Gabriel Barbosa, and a late finish from Eduardo capped off a commanding performance, one that keeps Cruzeiro firmly in control at the summit as they continue to go from strength to strength.
Prediction 0-2
Bragantino v Flamengo
24/07/2025 – Kick Off (01:30 GMT)
Bragantino remain third in the Brasileirão table but come into this fixture without a win in their last two outings. After a 2-2 draw with São Paulo, they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away to struggling Vitória, with Renato Kayser’s first-half strike proving decisive. Despite dominating the game with 15 attempts and three on target, Bragantino couldn’t find a way past Lucas Arcanjo, who put in another excellent performance between the sticks for Vitória. Still, Bragantino sit just six points off top spot and know that a win here would see them draw level on points with Flamengo.
After their setback against Santos, Flamengo responded in ideal fashion with a hard-fought 1-0 win over bitter rivals Fluminense. The decisive moment came in the dying minutes of the match, as Pedro struck late to seal all three points. The result keeps means that the Rubro Negro remain second in the table, just three points behind leaders Cruzeiro, and crucially, still have a game in hand. With the pressure mounting at the top, Flamengo will be eager to maintain momentum.
Prediction 0-1
Santos v Internacional
24/07/2025 – Kick Off (01:30 GMT)
Santos have slipped back into the bottom four after a heavy 3-0 defeat to fellow Paulista side Mirassol. Goals from Chico, Reinaldo, and Cristian Renato sealed a commanding win for the hosts and brought Santos’ recent momentum to a halt. It was a frustrating setback for a side that had been showing signs of improvement, with two wins in a row prior to the loss. Despite the defeat, Santos have still picked up three wins from their last five matches and will be desperate to bounce back immediately, hoping this stumble doesn’t derail their progress as they look to climb back out of the relegation zone.
Internacional have hit the ground running since the return of the Brasileirão following the Club World Cup break, picking up a much-needed six points from six. Back-to-back 1-0 victories, first over Fluminense and most recently against Ceará, have not only lifted the mood but also showcased a renewed defensive solidity, with two clean sheets on the bounce. Alan Patrick was the hero last time out, netting the decisive goal to give Inter a narrow but deserved win at home. Now sitting 12th in the table with four wins, five draws, and five defeats from 14 matches, they’ll be eager to make it three straight wins and continue climbing up the standings.
Prediction 0-0
Vitoria v Sport Recife
24/07/2025 – Kick Off (01:30 GMT)
Vitória lifted themselves out of the bottom three last time out with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bragantino, courtesy of a first-half strike from Renato Kayser. The result came somewhat against the run of play, with Bragantino dominating possession and chances, but a heroic display from goalkeeper Lucas Arcanjo proved decisive. His string of saves kept the visitors at bay and ensured a vital three points for Vitória, their first league win since beating Vasco da Gama back on May 10th. After weeks of struggle, this was a much-needed boost, and they’ll be hoping it marks the start of a turnaround.
It’s been a season of torture for Sport Recife, who remain rooted to the bottom of the Brasileirão table. From 13 matches, they’ve yet to record a single win, drawing just three and losing a staggering ten. Their most recent outing was another heartbreaker, falling 1-0 at home to reigning champions Botafogo. Despite creating some decent chances and arguably having the better of the play, it was a stoppage-time strike from Cuiabano that condemned them to a third straight defeat.
With only five goals scored and 21 conceded, Recife’s problems lie at both ends of the pitch. Confidence looks shattered, and unless something changes quickly, their top-flight status will be in serious danger. They currently trail the survival places by 11 points, a gap that’s growing with each passing week. A response is urgently needed, and they’ll be desperate to show some fight in this fixture.
Prediction 2-1
