Game Information

02/08/2025 – (Kick Off 22:30 GMT)

Mirassol

Mirassol’s debut season in the Brasileirão has been nothing short of impressive. From 15 matches, they’ve picked up six wins, seven draws, and suffered only two defeats, scoring 24 goals and conceding just 14. They currently sit in seventh place and are unbeaten in their last eight matches, a testament to their consistency and resilience.

Last time out, however, they were left slightly disappointed after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Vitória. Edson Carioca gave Mirassol the perfect start with a goal inside six minutes, but Gabriel Baralhas equalised for the visitors just seven minutes later. The game remained tightly contested and ended level, a fair result overall, though Mirassol may feel it was an opportunity missed.

They’ll now be looking to get back to winning ways against a Vasco side that’s been struggling for form and sits just above the relegation zone, a match Mirassol will feel confident heading into.

Vasco da Gama

Vasco da Gama sit 16th in the league, hovering just above the relegation zone. From their 15 matches, they’ve won four, drawn three, and lost eight, and will be desperate to turn things around and build some breathing space.

Last time out in the league, they faced Internacional away from home and got off to a promising start, with Rayan opening the scoring. However, things unravelled late on. Léo Jardim was sent off in the 86th minute, and Johan Carbonero equalised for Internacional deep into added time. It was a gutting end to a match Vasco had looked set to win, and it leaves them winless in their last three league outings.

In midweek Copa do Brasil action, ill-discipline struck again, with Joao Victo also sent off in the 86th minute. Despite that, Vasco managed to hang on for a draw against CSA, keeping the tie in the balance heading into the second leg.

They’ll now shift focus back to the league, where improving form is vital if they want to avoid being dragged into the bottom four.

Prediction – 2-1
