Bragantino v Internacional

09/08/2025 – (Kick-Off GMT 22:30)

Bragantino will be desperate to turn their form around after going seven matches without a win, losing six of those. In midweek, they suffered more disappointment as they exited the Copa do Brasil following a 3-0 aggregate defeat. Before that, they fell 2-1 at home to Atlético Mineiro in a match that saw Eduardo Sasha sent off. Igor Gómez had given Atlético the lead before Ignacio Laquintana equalised for Bragantino, but their joy was short-lived as Natanael struck moments later to seal the win for Atlético. The result leaves Bragantino sitting 6th in the league and searching for answers.

Internacional are winless in their last four matches, picking up two draws and two defeats in that run. At the weekend, they fell 2-1 at home to São Paulo, with Robert Arboleda and Damián Bobadilla putting the visitors two goals ahead before a late Bruno Tabata penalty served only as a consolation. That result leaves Inter sitting 13th in the league after 17 matches. Things went from bad to worse in midweek as they were dumped out of the Copa do Brasil, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Fluminense. With a Libertadores showdown against Flamengo looming, Internacional know they must find form quickly if they are to turn their season around.

Prediction – 1-1

Flamengo v Mirassol

09/08/2025 – (Kick-Off GMT 22:30)

Flamengo are winless in their last three matches in all competitions, yet still sit top of the Brasileirão on goal difference with 11 wins, four draws, and two defeats from 17 outings. In their most recent league match, they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Ceará, with Giorgian de Arrascaeta firing the hosts ahead before Pedro Raul levelled things in the second half. Midweek brought mixed emotions.. A 1-0 win over Atlético Mineiro wasn’t enough to prevent penalty shootout heartbreak in the Copa do Brasil. With their cup exit confirmed, Flamengo will now look to refocus on league business and build momentum ahead of a huge Copa Libertadores clash with Internacional in midweek.

Mirassol have been one of the surprise packages of the Brasileirão this season, and their impressive run continued in last time out as they stretched their unbeaten streak to nine matches with a thrilling 3-2 win over Vasco da Gama. A quiet first half gave way to a second-half goal fest — Negueba and Chico put Mirassol 2-0 up, only for Vasco to hit back through Puma Rodríguez and Pablo Vegetti. Alesson struck what proved to be the winner, sealing another big result for the newly promoted side. The victory leaves Mirassol sitting fifth in the table, and they’ll be out to cause another upset here.

Prediction – 1-0

São Paulo v Vitória

09/08/2025 – (Kick-Off GMT 22:30)

São Paulo’s league form has been excellent since Hernán Crespo returned to the helm, with four straight wins in the Brasileirão. Last time out, they secured a 2-1 away victory over Internacional thanks to goals from Robert Arboleda and Damián Bobadilla. However, midweek brought a major setback, a red card to Rafael allowed Atlético Paranaense to snatch a 1-0 win in the Copa do Brasil, before São Paulo endured a nightmare in the penalty shootout, missing all three of their spot-kicks. After 18 matches, they sit eighth in the league and will be eager to bounce back immediately and keep their domestic momentum going.

Vitória are unbeaten in their last five matches, but during that run they’ve managed just one win alongside four draws. Last time out in the league, they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Palmeiras. Renato Kayzer fired them ahead before Erick doubled the lead moments later, but Palmeiras hit back through Joaquín Piquerez and José López to level the scores. The result leaves Vitória three points clear of the drop zone. After 18 matches, they’ve picked up three wins, nine draws, and six defeats, and will now be aiming to turn those draws into much-needed victories.

Prediction – 2-1

Fortaleza v Botafogo

10/08/2025 – (Kick-Off GMT 00:30)

Fortaleza are winless in their last two and sit 18th in the table, three points from safety, a gap they’ll be desperate to close. Last time out in the league, they put in a solid display away to Corinthians, with Breno Lópes opening the scoring for the visitors. However, heartbreak struck in stoppage time as André Carrillo equalised for the hosts. With an important Copa Libertadores tie in midweek, Fortaleza find themselves in a tricky position; they can’t afford to rest players given their league struggles, meaning a full-strength side will likely be needed in both competitions.

Botafogo suffered their first defeat since returning from the Club World Cup last time out, falling 2-0 at home to Cruzeiro. Goals from Christian and Matheus Pereira were enough to hand the defending Brazilian champions a rare setback, one they’ll be desperate to bounce back from in the league. Midweek brought an improvement, as Botafogo sealed a 1-0 win away to Bragantino, completing a 3-0 aggregate victory to progress in the Copa do Brasil. Like Fortaleza, they have a big Copa Libertadores clash coming up, but for now, all focus is firmly on getting three points here.

Prediction – 1-1

Bahia v Fluminense

10/08/2025 – (Kick-Off GMT 01:00)

Bahia remain unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions, but will be frustrated with recent displays. Last week, they were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom side Sport Recife — a team still searching for their first win of the campaign. Bahia had the better of the chances and more of the ball, but couldn’t find a way past Gabriel in the visitors’ goal. Midweek brought more of the same in the Copa do Brasil, as they drew 0-0 with Retro, but progressed 3-2 on aggregate thanks to their first-leg advantage. Once again, they dominated possession and created chances but lacked the finishing touch. Sitting fourth in the Brasileirão with eight wins, five draws, and three defeats, they’ll now be aiming to turn control into goals and return to winning ways here.

After four straight league defeats, Fluminense were in desperate need of a win, and they got it last time out, edging Grêmio 1-0 thanks to a first-half strike from Everaldo. Midweek brought more cause for celebration, as they secured a 3-2 aggregate victory over Internacional in the Copa do Brasil, following a 1-1 draw in the second leg. That result booked their place in the next round and gave them a much-needed boost. Now, with confidence slowly returning, Fluminense will be aiming to make it back-to-back league wins. From 16 matches, they have seven wins, two draws, and seven defeats, leaving them 9th in the table.

Prediction – 2-1
