There have been three nights of Brasileirão action, and tonight wraps up the final matches of round seven.

Saturday saw wins for Fluminense, Corinthians, Ceará and Bahia, while São Paulo and Fortaleza shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw.

Then on Sunday, Bahia saw off champions Botafogo, Palmeiras enjoyed a 1-0 win away at Vasco da Gama, Grêmio picked up a much-needed win over Santos, and Gabriel Barbosa came back to haunt his old club Flamengo in a 2-1 win for Cruzeiro.

Bragantino v Mirrassol

05/05/2025 – Kick Off 23:00 GMT

It’s been a much more positive start to the season for Bragantino compared to last campaign. After six matches, they’ve recorded four wins, one draw and one loss. They come into this match on the back of four straight league victories.

Last time out, they faced fellow São Paulo-based side Santos away from home. Eduardo Sasha opened the scoring in the second half before Ignacio Laquintana doubled the lead seven minutes from time. Deivid Washington pulled one back for the hosts, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

In midweek, in the Copa do Brasil, Bragantino took on second-tier Criciúma and suffered a 1-0 defeat following a second-half goal from Matheus Trindade. They’ll be hoping to turn things around in the second leg.

Mirassol’s debut season in the top flight has been mixed. They’ve proven hard to beat but have also struggled to turn games into wins. From their opening seven matches, they’ve managed just one win, one loss, and five draws.

Last time out in the league, they hosted Atlético Mineiro and played out a thrilling 2-2 draw. Edson Carioca opened the scoring for Mirassol with a brilliant solo effort, but second-half goals from Rony and Hulk saw Atlético turn the game around. It looked like Mirassol were heading for their second defeat of the season until a late goal from Reinaldo rescued a point.

Having been eliminated early from the Copa do Brasil, Mirassol have had more time to prepare for this match, which could give them a slight edge going into this duel.

Juventude v Atletico Mineiro

06/05/2025 Kick Off 00:00 GMT

Juventude will be hoping to improve on their recent run of form, which has seen them lose twice and draw once in their last three matches. Overall, they’ve won just two of their six league games so far this season. After being knocked out in the earlier rounds of the Copa do Brasil, they’ve had no midweek distractions and have been able to fully focus on the league.

Their most recent outing saw them take on fellow Rio Grande do Sul side Internacional, where they suffered a 3-1 defeat on the road. Emerson Batalla opened the scoring for Juve, but Inter responded with three goals to ensure Juve left empty-handed.

Juventude currently sit 14th in the table and will be hoping for a much-improved performance in this battle.

Also hoping for an improvement in results is Atlético Mineiro, who have just one win from their opening six league matches. Last time out, they took on Mirassol away from home and conceded in the first half after a brilliant solo run and finish from Edson Carioca. Galo responded in the second half with goals from Rony and a spot-kick from Hulk to turn the game around and take a 2-1 lead. However, in the dying moments, Reinaldo struck to rescue a point for the hosts. Atlético will be furious they couldn’t hold onto the lead and will be hoping to tighten things up here.

In midweek, in the Copa do Brasil, it was the same scoreline for Atlético, as they drew 2-2 away at Maringá. They’ll now be eager to put those frustrations behind them and pick up all three points in this one.
