Game Information

Saturday 5th April – Kick-off – 22:30 (GMT)

Ceará

Ceará will be disappointed after racing into a two-goal lead against Bragantino on Monday evening, with goals from Pedro Raul and Marllon. However, Laquintana pulled one back for the hosts just before half-time, and when it looked like Ceará would hang on in the second half, Eric Ramires’ lovely strike from the edge of the box saw the Red Bull club draw level. They nearly conceded again towards the end, but a fantastic save from Bruno Ferreira ensured a point for Ceará.

Vozão would likely have been happy with a point before the game, but given the circumstances, they will be far from pleased and will be hoping to put things right in front of their home fans.

Grêmio

After missing out on State Championship glory, Grêmio needed a positive start to their Brasileirão campaign — and it’s safe to say it’s been a good week for the side from Porto Alegre. First, goals from Matías Arezo and Edenílson gave them a two-goal lead against Atlético Mineiro at home. A second-half goal from Rony saw Galo pull one back, but Grêmio did enough to secure all three points.

Then, in midweek, Grêmio took on Sportivo Luqueño in the Copa Sudamericana and came out on top again in Asunción with another 2–1 victory. Arezo was on the scoresheet once more, with Martin Braithwaite adding the second.

They’ll now be keen to make it three wins on the spin in this upcoming battle.
