Game Information

Sunday 6th April – Kick-off – 20:00 (GMT)

Atlético Mineiro

It’s been another disappointing week for Atlético Mineiro, who are now winless in three matches.
Last weekend, they started poorly against Grêmio, conceding twice in the first half. They pulled a goal back through Rony after the break but couldn’t find an equalizer, leaving them empty-handed.

Midweek in the Copa Sudamericana, Galo faced Peruvian side Cienciano. Despite dominating possession and chances, they were again frustrated—this time settling for a 0-0 draw.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, Galo can’t afford to let winless streaks become a habit. With another tricky test ahead, the 2021 champions must find a response.

São Paulo

São Paulo had a disappointing start to the season with a 0-0 draw against Sport Recife — a game they would have expected to win. They were given a glorious chance to take the lead in the opening moments, but Jonathan Calleri blazed his spot-kick well over the crossbar.

São Paulo continued to dominate the game but couldn’t find a way past the Sport backline, who put in a solid performance.

Despite the hiccup at the weekend, São Paulo enjoyed a great start to their Copa Libertadores campaign, winning 1-0 on the road against Argentine side Talleres Córdoba.

They will now be hoping for another positive result on the road in what promises to be an exciting contest.
